Passionate painter Susan Doyle – came to painting following early retirement – proving it is never too late to learn!
She finds her inspiration and ideas come from her surrounding landscape, and seascape when she gets the opportunity. Her style is an emotional and intuitive response, endeavouring to capture a feeling of time, space, atmosphere, working in acrylic paint and mixed media. The paintings are full of colour and vary from the landscape/seascape to the truly abstract.
Largely self-taught, her explorative journey, discovering new ways and techniques continues to change and is always challenging.
Early influences include the Impressionists, Expressionists, Fauves and Cubists. More recently the work of Joan Eardly, Kurt Jackson Lewis Noble, David Mankin and Louise Fletcher have all played a part in helping to develop her art.
